Szentháromság (Trinity) square There were lots of small alleys and streets here during medieval times, Trinity square was created after retaking of Buda castle from the turks in 1686. Trinity column was erected in 1710 and the square was named after it. The building of Ministry of Finance can be seen behind the column. It was built at the beginning of 20th century in neogothic style by the plans of Sándor Fellner. It was rebuilt after World War II. Its upper floor with the small towers was destroyed and it was converted to a student hostel. Now it houses the offices of KÖH (office of Hungarian Cultural Heritage).
