Statue of St Gerard

According to the legend, missionary Gellért was thrown down from the top of this hill in 1046 by pagan Hungarians. The hill was called as Kelen hill at that time but it was later named after the saint killed here. The statue of Saint Gellért was made by Gyula Jankovics in 1904 while the pagan figure as created by Aladár Gárdos. The monument around the statues was designed by architect Imre Francsek.
