De la Motte palace

De la Motte Palace located at Parade (Dísz) square 15 was built using the ruins of two different medieval houses after 1723 since these ruins were bought by carpenter John Schultz at that time. It was bought by commander Franz de la Motte des Aulnois in 1760, he transfered the baroque house into a fine rococo palace. The house was extended with another romantic style wing in 1865 according to the plans of Joseph Pan. A pharmacy was located at its ground floor at that time. You can find precious rococo frescoes on the first floor which are only open once in a year (usually in the middle of September) to the public since the house is used nowdays as offices of MAG. Check www.oroksegnapok.hu for the exact timing.
