Batthyány palace The Batthyány palace was built for Johann Stephan v. Werlein, a deputy of Wien court by Venerio Ceresola after Buda was retaken from the turks in 1686. An architect named Marton Siegl built a new two-storey sized palace here following the plans of Joseph Giessl for Lajos Batthyány. Its facade was rebuilt 100 years later in eclectical style, later it was converted to smaller flats. It was restored in its former 18th century style at the end of the of World War II.
